Super Saturday at SNP; plus a freebie!

True North Scraps has a new release

The snow is finally starting to melt around here and lately my thoughts have been about our motorcycle that has been parked in the garage all winter.   We have a beautiful oldie - a 1988 Honda Goldwing.  It's a cruiser and basically it is like riding a moving easy chair.  It's so comfortable!  And it's exhilarating to feel the wind on your face and smell the scent of the freshly worked earth as you ride past newly seeded fields.   It's time to take the dust cover off, gas it up and hit the road!  Well... not literally.  We intend to keep the "rubber side down" and enjoy our rides.  Remember to look twice -- you could save a life!  Motorcycles are hard to see and we hate to hear about any crashes involving motorcycles because you know it's not usually going to end up well for the biker(s).

Okay, public service announcement over.  ;)  (But really -- look twice for a motorcycle that may be hard to see!! Thank you.  I really don't want a case of road rash, or worse...)  I had to make this kit because I'm positive I'm not the only bike enthusiast that scraps!

Lookin For Adventure

The difference between a designer who cares (me) and one who doesn't...

Everybody should read this!

This is a pet peeve of mine.   I buy CU products to save some time, not for a make-more-work project for me.  I'm not naming names (so don't email me for the name of this "designer"), but look at this -- I have it at only 200% and look at all the work I am going to have to do before I can use it.  This is only about 10% of the element.   If she zoomed to 200% before she put this in her store, her QC stinks.  If she didn't zoom it to 200% before she put it in her store, her QC stinks.  Does she know about QC? There's no way that she should have sold this product like this.  Her store shouldn't have allowed her to add this product either.  It's obvious that neither of them have QC standards.

That is why you have to be so careful when you buy your scrapping supplies, whether they are PU or CU.  There are designers who are extremely picky about what gets put in their store (like ME!).  I always keep it in the back of my mind when I am making any product that if you buy it, you plan to use it to preserve a memory that is precious to you.  I will not mess up your photo book by having sloppy elements or blurry papers.  I take that VERY seriously and if you EVER find something in one of my kits that you are not happy with, please contact me and I WILL make it right for you.  Some designers are not so discerning and could care less, just give 'em your money and they are happy.

Ok, I better run.  I have some eraser work to do now...

Do You Believe in Fairies?

This pixie dusted kit is a rework of a kit I released about a year ago in my first store.   Why did I redo this kit?  Well, it's a favourite kit of mine and I wanted to release it in my current stores, but I've learned so much about designing in the past year that I wanted up update it to my current higher standards first. I changed elements I wasn't happy with, took some elements out that I couldn't upgrade, and added some new elements to this kit.

It's also a lot bigger than last year.  I combined the old kit with the add-on I had made, and turned it into a mega kit with over 70 elements and 34 papers.  Not shown in the preview above, is a full sparkly green  alpha that is also now included in the kit!
